Nikki discovered yoga in 2001 for her carpel tunnel syndrome. But the love affair began in 2006 when she stumbled upon Baron Baptiste’s Journey Into Power book and was intrigued by the pose on the front cover. It’s Baron holding bakasana (crow pose). She was never able to get into bakasana due to carpel tunnel but his words spoke to her heart and his practice spoke to her body. With a commitment to a daily practice she was able to fly in crow within a couple of months. She thought if she could accomplish crow pose in a matter of months when she thought she would never be able to do it, she knew her life was going to change.
Nikki believes in yoga and is passionate about sharing this practice with everyone. “Yoga will squeeze you, challenge you, ask more of you than you can possibly imagine. It will wring you out and show you that you have no limits because when there’s no separation between mind, body and spirit, your fullest potential will shine through.”
One of Nikki’s mission is to teach her students how to teach themselves. She believes yoga is a personal journey and believes that the truest Teacher always lies within the Self. So whether she is teaching a private session, group lessons, or a teacher training, she strives to share the knowledge so you can serve your own body’s needs, learn the tools to enhance your own practice, and also the skills to share this practice with others whether that is with your friends and families or as a career teaching the public.
Expect her classes to be vigorous and fun with bouts of laughter to challenge you to stay connected in mind, body and spirit. Whether you are reading her blog, attending group classes, or practicing to her podcasts, she is excited to be a part of your journey. Come practice with her and meet yourself at the edge of doubt, then breathe like never before and witness how yoga will redefine your boundaries of limitations in your mind, your body, and your being.
