Yoga Teacher’s Survival Kit

I’m back (for a short bit)…  All the prepping, organizing, and re-writing the manual for my 200hr teacher training immersion had consumed me.   I  guess it’s not a bad thing since I love what I do.   I survived the week long intensive with eight curious yogis who have taken the plunge to connect to their practice through a different set of lens.  Some want to teach and others just want to explore their practice.    What I found after spending 14+ hours a day with these guys is that no matter why we chose to put our lives on hold and lock ourselves in a yoga room for 8 days is that we are all on this same journey.   It doesn’t matter if we end up teaching, we will end up teaching.  We are all Teachers regardless of whether we stand up in front of a people and bark out instructions or are just on our mats practicing with others… and it doesn’t hurt to have a few extra tools in our tool belt:

Yoga Teacher’s Survival Kit

Here’s an eraser to make all those little mistakes disappear,
A pencil for you to list what you’re grateful for everyday,
A toothpick to pick out the Higher Being qualities in yourself and others,
An elastic to help you and your students stretch beyond your perceived limits,
A paper clip to hold it all together when it seems to be falling apart,
A marble for those days you’re sure you’ve lost yours,
A lifesaver candy because you’re a lifesaver to so many students,
A tootsie roll so you can roll with the punches and go with the flow,
A pack of seeds because great teachers plant seeds that grow forever,
and a penny so you will never be completely broke.

Oh! I especially love the last one 🙂  I know these guys will appreciate the penny once they get out there in the real world 🙂
